I think your story is very, very sad.....it's horrible! I also think it's long overdue that people/the law/supervisors,(everybody), start paying attention to emotional abuse, and even more so, neglect. I am a nurse myself, (or used to be), and received superb training in NYC teaching hospitel. What you are describing is notthe sesult of 'an occasional bad mood, or a failure on your part to recognize that staff is overworked. everything you came in contact with was 'emorionally negligent', 'medically negligent', and totally unacceptable. It really does not matter that your husband was lucky enough to survive; that did not come about from 'good enough' treatment, but only perhaps 'inspite of really bad treatment'. can you imagine if you had nor been there for him? I know you propably feel that you had little impact, but on the other hand you were the only one who had 'any positive impact' and I woulod hate to think what would have happened if you had not been there. Ane, you had a private aid! And, yes, this it totally the hospital's fault. With horrible, un-caring, and indifferent leadership comes something like you describe. also, it is clear that management, or the CEO of the hospital, does not care about his staff. he treats them badly, and they hand it over to you, sort of as a punishment displaced. and where were the supervisors? I could say so much more, but have to feed my kids. I have my own story to tell soon. I am still shocked by the feedback I just read to nyou from another. some people just don't get it! i am not an angel, but this i want you to know. if I had ben waiting in the ER myself, and able, I would not have thought twice about coming to your husband's assistance, including acting as his advocate with staff. thank you for the story. wrongly amputating the wrong leg would not have been worse. at least in that case, it was propably a mistake.

I think what happend to your husband is a horrible event. However I don't think that it was any kind of mal practice, on cedars part. They tried there best. And you have to realize that these doctors and nurses are only human. They are not God.
